Attempting Alaska
Jasper Alberta to Fort Nelson British Columbia
Left Jasper at 5:48. I tend to get up early when riding, probably because I go to bed early when camping. In
the motels, I get to bed later. I still get up early but I'm a tad more tired.
I headed on down the east side of the Canadian Rockies and again the views were excellent. At the bottom of
the hill, I spotted the left turn into the park. Route 40 north. I decided to head into Hinton though, gas up
and grab a bite.
When done I headed back and headed down Rt 40 into the William A. Switzer Provencial Park. Mr. Switzer
was a Member of the Legislative Assembly. Something like a congressman based on a couple of searches. Mr.
Switzer was a long time resident of Hinton and a Mayor for a while back in 1975.
The road itself was excellent. Sweeping curves and little traffic. I spotted a pair of moose, a caribou,
several elk, a bunch of deer, 4 black bears and a pair of either brown or grizzly bears.
